This series was based on experimentation with figures and perspectives on an abstracted landscape. Here, I see the interaction of abstract forms in animals, flowers and forests and allow the vibrant backgrounds to create a surreal view of them. It also shows how natural beauty flourishes over an industrial mesh, though at the same time they compliment each other; that’s my inner public historian speaking, telling me to appreciate the small beauties in the midst of our chaotic, every-growing, and mechanized world. I focus on local landscapes and animal portraiture on abstracted backgrounds (from my reservoir of horse references from Harrogate Hills Riding Stable).
