I carefully choose my cityscape settings to evoke a nostalgic experience. No figures are present in these urban but spiritual landscapes as a moment in time is captured – the moment before the tide turns or twilight breaks over a bridge becomes akin to holding one’s breath to hold the time in place. I explore these nostalgic memories to share a personal moment of contemplation and of peace with the viewers, taking the fast-paced feeling out of the urban world. I use a spray paint background as a liminal medium between nature and industrialization.
