AQUARIUS COLLECTION

The Aquarius Collection looks at the memories carried by water. ‘Aquarius’, the astrological sign and constellation, tells the story of a water carrier, and I chose this idea based on the peace we can find near water areas. The sound of rushing water, the light dew on the morning grass – each of these images conjure special memories to every one of us.

HAUNTS

During the lockdown, I began to experiment with a looser style of painting. These works were created with palette knives in both oil and thickened acrylic mediums. This series is currently in production. I use my local environment, and references from past travel photos, in a nostalgic experimentation.

Thanks to a grant from the Ontario Arts Council, the canvas works in this section are framed in handmade, ebony stained wood. Flat works, like those on canvas board and masonite, have frames sourced from Preston Gallery, Uxbridge.

Many of these works were featured in my first solo exhibition, “Remnants & Revelations”, hosted by Skylight Gallery in March 2021.
